The nose, seen from the inside out.
Most clinics offer a little of everything. Dr. Pelen offers something narrower and, in this field, rarer: an ear-nose-throat surgeon whose entire practice is built around the nose — how it looks, and just as importantly, how it works.
That perspective shapes every consultation. Before a single line is drawn over a profile, the septum and the airway are understood first. The result is a plan where breathing and appearance are designed together, never traded against each other.
A nose is not only a feature on your face — it is how you breathe.
Training & background
Born in Edremit, Balıkesir in 1979, Dr. Pelen graduated from Şehremini High School and went on to study medicine at İstanbul University, İstanbul Faculty of Medicine, qualifying as a doctor in 2004. Between 2005 and 2010 he completed his specialist training in Ear, Nose & Throat and Head & Neck Surgery at İstanbul Göztepe Training and Research Hospital.
Following his military service in 2010–2011 and the compulsory state service that came after it, he began working as a private physician in 2013. In 2017 he opened his own clinic at Metroport Busidence in Bahçelievler, İstanbul, where he continues to focus on rhinoplasty.
Throughout both his residency and his specialist training, a particular interest in rhinoplasty led him to attend many seminars, meetings and courses — and, on his own initiative, to assist in the operating room alongside leading surgeons in the field. By following the surgical literature and visual sources closely, he keeps his practice aligned with the most current techniques and methods. Dr. Pelen is married and a father of two.
A deliberate, conservative point of view
Years spent on a single area of surgery build a particular kind of judgement: knowing not only what can be changed, but what is better left alone. Dr. Pelen’s approach is measured and restrained — refinement over reinvention, so that the result still looks like you.
Why an ENT foundation matters
As an ear-nose-throat surgeon, Dr. Pelen trained first in the function of the nose: the septum, the airway, the internal structures that cosmetic-only approaches often leave untouched. That foundation is why much of the world’s leading facial surgery grows from this same specialty.
In practice, it means a functional problem and an aesthetic goal can be addressed in one operation — a deviated septum corrected while the profile is refined — rather than solving one and quietly creating the other.
How Dr. Pelen works
Every plan begins with an honest conversation. What is possible for your anatomy is explained clearly — and so is what is not. Recovery is described as it really is, with swelling that settles gradually over months rather than overnight.
It is a calm, unhurried way of working, and a deliberate contrast to assembly-line surgical tourism. The aim is simple: the right operation for the right person, planned around one face at a time.
