The Approach · İstanbul, Turkey

Your Patient Journey

From your first message to long after you’re home — exactly what travelling to İstanbul for nose surgery with Op. Dr. Arda Pelen looks like, step by step.

01Overview

A leap made into simple, supported steps.

Having surgery in another country can feel like a leap. Our job is to make the medical side feel like a series of small, well-supported steps instead — so that from your first message to long after you’re home, you always know what happens next and who to ask.

The medical journey is coordinated for you. A dedicated coordinator looks after your consultation and surgery dates, your hospital arrangements and all your questions; Op. Dr. Arda Pelen plans and performs your surgery; and the same team stays reachable long after you fly home — all in English, German or Turkish. Your flights, hotel and airport transfers you arrange yourself, and if you ask, the team is glad to recommend trusted options near the clinic.

Nothing is rushed and nothing is hidden. You receive an honest opinion and an indicative price before you commit anything, with no deposit to see a quote — so you can decide in your own time, with the full picture in front of you.

02Step by step

Your journey, from home to home.

Nine clear stages — the medical ones handled for you. Here is the whole path, so there are no surprises.

First contact

Your free photo assessment

Send a few photos by WhatsApp or the form. Within one working day you receive an honest written opinion from Dr. Pelen and an indicative price — no deposit, no obligation.

Planning

A video consultation

A video call with Dr. Pelen to agree your goals, the right technique, and answer every question — in English, German or Turkish.

Before you fly

Planning your trip

Once you decide, your coordinator confirms your surgery dates and explains exactly what to plan for. You book your own flights, hotel and airport transfers — and if you ask, the team will gladly recommend trusted hotels and transfer options near the clinic.

Arrival

Arriving in İstanbul

You make your own way from the airport to your hotel. Your coordinator is reachable from the moment you land, so any question is one message away.

Pre-op

Meeting Dr. Pelen in person

An in-person consultation, with the necessary checks and blood tests, confirms the final plan before surgery.

Surgery day

Your operation

Surgery at an accredited hospital under general anaesthesia, with a full anaesthesia team — then one night’s stay so you’re monitored and comfortable.

Recovery

Resting in İstanbul

A few quiet days recovering at your hotel as the early swelling settles, with your coordinator on call and Dr. Pelen’s team checking in.

Going home

Cast off, then home

The cast or splints come off around day 6–8, and you fly home with clear, written aftercare instructions.

Back home

Looked after, long term

Remote follow-up continues for as long as you need it — Dr. Pelen’s team stays reachable long after you’re home.

03What’s included

What your package covers.

One clear figure for the medical side — your surgery, hospital stay, and the coordination and follow-up around it, with nothing medical left for you to organise alone. Your flights, hotel and travel you arrange yourself.

The surgery

Dr. Pelen’s fee, an accredited hospital, the full anaesthesia team and one night’s monitored stay.

Consultation & planning

Your video consultation, the in-person pre-op checks and blood tests, and a surgical plan built around you.

The care

A dedicated coordinator from your first message to long-term follow-up — in your language, throughout.

Flights, hotels and airport transfers are not part of the package — you arrange your own travel and stay. If you ask, the team is glad to recommend trusted hotels and transfer options near the clinic, but we don’t book or charge for them.

04Support

You’re never on your own.

The thing most international patients worry about isn’t the surgery — it’s everything around it. So from your very first message, one team coordinates your medical journey, answers the questions, and stays reachable long after you’ve flown home.

You don’t chase different departments or repeat yourself to strangers. A single coordinator knows your case, keeps the medical side organised, and is the person you message whenever something is on your mind — before, during and well after your stay. And because everything happens in English, German or Turkish, nothing gets lost in translation at the moments that matter most.

A dedicated coordinator

One point of contact who coordinates your care and stays reachable throughout your journey.

English, German or Turkish

Your assessment, consultation, surgery and follow-up — all in a language you’re comfortable in.

05Questions

Travelling to İstanbul — your questions.

How do I get a first opinion before travelling?+
Send a few photos through WhatsApp or the assessment form. Within one working day you’ll receive an honest written opinion from Dr. Pelen and an indicative price — with no deposit and no obligation to go ahead.
How long do I need to stay in İstanbul?+
For rhinoplasty, plan for around seven nights, so the cast can be removed before you fly home. Functional procedures such as septoplasty can need a slightly shorter stay. Your coordinator confirms the exact dates with you.
Are flights, hotels and transfers included?+
No. Flights, hotels and airport transfers aren’t part of the package — you arrange your own travel and stay. If you ask, the team is glad to recommend trusted hotels and transfer options near the clinic, so it’s easy to organise.
Do I need to bring someone with me?+
A companion is welcome but not required. Many international patients travel alone and are fully supported throughout by their coordinator and Dr. Pelen’s team.
What language is everything in?+
Your assessment, consultation, surgery and follow-up are all available in English, German or Turkish — both with your coordinator and with Dr. Pelen.
I’m nervous about surgery abroad — how are first-timers looked after?+
Gently and closely. One coordinator stays with you from your first message to long after you’re home, the whole medical side is handled for you, and you’re given an honest picture at every step rather than being rushed.
Do I need a visa to travel to Turkey?+
It depends on your nationality — many UK and EU visitors travel visa-free or on a simple e-Visa for short stays. Always check the official Turkish e-Visa service for your situation, and your coordinator can point you in the right direction.
What happens after I fly home?+
Your care doesn’t stop at the airport. Remote follow-up continues for as long as you need it, and Dr. Pelen’s team stays reachable long after you’re home for any question or check-in.
